K – Kindergarteners are learning the difference between their talking and singing voice. We sing a lot of rhyming songs and do movement activities. You may hear- "This is my place, my space, nobody but me," that emphasizes self-space.
Grade 1 – Singing and moving activities. First graders are working on and apple game that has 2 parts.
Grade 2 – Second graders are using their listening skills to move to the music. The tempo or speed of the song changes and they move accordingly in "The Grand Old Duke of York."
Grade 3 – In Music Class we will learn the Massachusetts State Song that coordinates with the Third grade Social Studies curriculum. Third graders are playing color-coded music using the Boomwhackers. (Different sized colored tubes that coordinate with the notes.)
Grade 4 - Fourth graders are learning different folk songs and movement activities to coordinate with their social studies curriculum.
Grade 5 - Fifth graders are learning to conduct using three different beat patterns. The students are learning to work cooperatively during projects.
