White Reading/Literacy is a mixed grade reading class currently consisting of 6th and 7th graders. The goal of this class is to make sure each student has an enriching reading experience that builds upon strengths and areas of needed skill development. Throughout the course of the school year, students will be engaged in reading a variety of types of fiction and non-fiction text, with a focus on developing comprehension strategies and skills. Students will engage in whole class reading paired with discussion, small group reading activities, as well as have quiet read time in which they will read from text at their personal reading level. They goal is for students is to not only learn skills, strategies, and content knowledge, but to build an enjoyment of reading through finding and always having a "Good Fit Book" at their fingertips!
