The focus of this language arts class is for students to learn and develop skills and strategies in the area of written language. Areas of instruction include sentence/paragraph structure, vocabulary/word choice, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics. In addition, students will work to improve their skills using the writing process (i.e. brainstorm, draft, revise, edit, final copy, publish) in which they will use various types of writing structure, including persuasive, expository, and informative. The goal is for each student to build upon their specific skill needs, while also having all students be a part of whole group and small group lessons and activities.
