Annotation of Important Terms

As said earlier, the word “university” means an institution of higher education and research. This word is important as the article by George J. Schorr was about The Ohio State University and the foundation of the university as well. 

As mentioned before, the board of trustees is a group of individuals who are either elected or appointed that are responsible for the management of an organization, especially a not-for-profit organization such as a hospital, university, or museum. The word “Board” and the phrase, board of trustees are both important to the History of the Division of Business and Finance article because it is about how Ohio State's Board of Trustees were responsible for the overall funding for Ohio State’s foundation, including its buildings on campus. 

As explained before, a business manager is a person who manages the business affairs of an individual, institution, organization, or company. In the case of the article by Schorr, the word was important because the business manager of Ohio State held a lot of responsibility for managing the business affairs conducted by the university. The business manager was in numerous meetings described throughout the article that were essential to the foundation of Ohio State.
