Preview and Publish

Preview

Before you publish your site, preview it. Click the Preview icon.

Previewing a site allows you to see the site as a viewer not as an editor. New Google Sites use responsive web design which means the site responds to the size of the screen it is being displayed on. When in preview mode you will notice the screen display sizes in the lower right corner. This will allow you to preview the site in all possible display sizes. As you select the different display sizes, your site will automatically switch to fit that display size. Click the X to return to edit mode.

Publish

A Google Site will not be viewable to anyone except editors until you publish the site. Click the blue Publish button in the upper right corner. Enter a name for the site. Click Manage to determine who will be able to view the site. Anyone at Norfolk Public Schools can find and view the published version means viewers will need to be signed in to their npsne.org account to view the site. If you select this option, no one outside of NPS will be able to view the site. If you are creating the site for parent communication, select Anyone can find and view the published site for publication.

Once the site is published any time you make changes to the site you will need to publish the site again. Access publishing options to change the publish settings, view the published site or unpublish your site.
