Welcome to Honors World Studies!
While the calendar here will contain most assignment due dates, detailed information on assignments and classwork will posted in the Google classroom.
Recommended supplies:
1. A 3 ring binder and 3 holed notebook paper. I will be emphasizing taking notes by hand in class and from textbook.
2. A folder in the 3 ring binder or pockets for handouts, if you choose to print them out.
you do not need to carry the binders with you, they may stay at home and any handouts / notes can be transferred to the binder. I recommend always taking notes in Cornell Notes system, preferably by hand. You should also take notes on your readings and then combine the notes in the binder.
Absences:
Make up tests and quizzes promptly. Discuss scheduling of makeups with me. You are likely to receive a different version of the test.
Any late assignments will have a 10% per day deduction. Assignments will become zero’s after a week.
Grading:
There will be approximately two tests, two quizzes, a project and multiple homework / classwork assignments per quarter. Everything is graded on accuracy and total points.
You are also expected to keep notes both of classroom lectures and discussion AND from your reading. There are frequent reading and class work quizzes - good notes are vital and you will be allowed to review them for a minute or two before reading checks.
