Upon completion of this course, the student will have acquired the ability to speak Italian on selected topics, to understand simple spoken Italian, and to read elementary articles in Italian. Students will acquire an awareness of the Italian heritage and contemporary Italian civilization. Students begin to use the language to be creative, in both spoken and written formats, and by incorporating and expanding upon learned high frequency linguistic patterns, which include daily activities and narrations in the present, past and future tenses.
Level 2 Expectations: Novice to Intermediate
Level 2 begins the year with novice level tasks and progressively increases difficulty to intermediate level by the end of the year.
