NPMS Orchestra
The New Providence Middle School Orchestra is a dynamic and award-winning ensemble where students grow as musicians and people through respect, teamwork, and a commitment to learning high-quality orchestral repertoire. The group performs each year at both the NPMS Winter and Spring Concerts, demonstrating our progress and passion for music! In addition, the orchestra proudly represents NPMS at the annual CJMEA Band/Orchestra Festival and Music in the Parks competition. The students of the orchestra get the opportunity to perform multiple selections for the Music in the Parks Festival judges. I am pleased to say that our ensembles earned the two highest ratings of EXCELLENT in 23-24 and SUPERIOR in 24-25! After these meaningful perfornces, the students get to enjoy a fun-filled trip to either Six Flags or Dorney Park! Through these experiences, people develop a sense of pride and accomplishment that enriches their lives and inspires those around them.
The NPMS Orchestra each year has multiple students audition for and gain acceptance to the CJMEA Regional Orchestras!

In 23-24 we had six students get accepted into the CJMEA Regional Orchestra:
Region Chamber Orchestra
Calvin Xu- Violin
Alexander Gigliotti- Bass
Region String Orchestra
Olivia Hoang- Violin
Ernest Feng- Violin
Megan Kuo- Violin
Mia Pardo- Bass.
Two of those students then auditioned and successfully got into the 23-24 NJ Intermediate All State Orchestra!

In 24-25 four of our middle school orchestra students participated in the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Intermediate Region Orchestra.

String Orchestra-
Abigail Boshart (8th Grade)-- Viola

"The All-State Orchestras and Intermediate Orchestra in NJ consist of the highest-performing high school and middle/junior high school musicians, respectively. For the All-State Intermediate Orchestra, auditions are also held every March for students who have participated in their corresponding regional ensemble, and the performance is in May."
