Japanese 2 (J2)

J2 is a course for students who have completed one year of Japanese study. It is open to students in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. In J2, students will focus on the following topics: My Daily Life, The Home, Weather and Seasons, Shopping, Clothes and Physical Appearance, and Cities, Towns and Villages. J2 is based on the Obento Supreme textbook series. Students will use Obento Supreme to support their language study according to the themes of the J2 curricula. In addition, ancillary materials will be drawn from Adventures in Japanese 1/2, Genki I and Japanese in MangaLand 2 to provide topical support at a variety of levels in order to meet the needs of all the students in the class. It is suggested that teachers also expose students to various realia in the target language including children’s books, magazines, maps, planners, price lists, websites, and apps.
