NPHS Language Arts Summer Reading 2025
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:
To encourage authentic and engaging summer reading this year, if you are enrolled in any level course 9-12 (except AP; see below), your summer reading will be entirely your choice as far as texts being selected. The New Providence Language Arts Department and the Media Center have collaborated to provide a Choice Board; you will find different categories, genres, and types of reading. Choose two books of your liking/preferences from the categories. When you get to school next year, you will write about your two books. Please do not read these books since the titles will be read for class. At the end of this page, you will find links to summer reading resources. WHERE TO FIND texts to read:
1. As long as it fits the requirements of one of the boxes on the Choice Board, and is grade appropriate, go for it! Your parents are welcome to order a book for you, but please know there are plenty of free options. NO ONE IS REQUIRED TO BUY A BOOK. You can use a book you already have at home or from a friend, neighbor, relative, or a free little library stand near where you live.
