Art Program

In Kindergarten through grade 6, the art program focuses on opportunities for students to be analytical thinkers by implementing sequential, visual and creative processes while engaging in a range of purposeful and inventive experiences. Various media and art forms will be explored throughout each grade level, including drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and weaving. Art history, culture, and critique will be embedded throughout instruction. The curriculum enhances communication, creativity, decision making, problem solving, and reflective thinking about learning through art. While integrating visual art with core content subjects, students are able to make sense of the world, build self-esteem, and learn in a way that meets their own unique cultural, social, and intellectual needs.
