Reading

To access the activities click on the arrow at the top right of the picture or copy and paste the link below, to open the in a new tab. You can now print and/or view the pages to practice reading nonsense words. Be sure to read them aloud so someone can hear you make the correct letter sounds for each nonsense word.

Each page has a vowel with pictures on it. If you print the page, you can color the pictures that have the short vowel sound. If you do not print, you can tell someone the names of the pictures that have the short vowel in them when you say the name of the object.

Before you complete pages, you will need to go to Starfall on the Clever page to read a story. Once there click on the Kindergarten icon. Then find the "Learn to Read" heading. It is the one with a rat holding a book. Now choose a story to read.

After reading the story you can complete the worksheets that go along with it. To access the worksheets click on the arrow at the top right of the picture or copy and paste the link below or copy and paste the link below to open in a new tab. The worksheets all have the title of the story at the top so you know you are completing the correct one.
