Homecoming is coming up fast for Saturday, November 4th. This year’s theme is “Let’s Glow Crazy”. While the theme has been subject to some scrutiny, it did win by a 54% majority against “An Enchanted Night”. Much of the controversy stems from the traffic cone fear where many are skeptical about matching their outfit to the theme. But rest assured, you are NOT required to match with the theme. Traditionally the Homecoming dance is less formal in comparison to Junior or Senior Prom but we encourage all to dress in a way that best expresses you and makes you comfortable. That being said bright colors or white fabric is the most likely to “light up” under the black lights.
Tickets go on sale for $7 on October 25th during lunch waves. November 1st is the first day outside guests can buy their tickets. Outside guest forms are available in the house office. There is a 700 hundred person cap on attendance and we do expect to reach it. Homecoming setup is being done from 9am-12pm on the 4th. Homecoming is from 7pm to 10pm. Staff will be checking tickets at the door. A big thank you to all who are helping clean up after the dance, many hands make light work.
Our decorations this year were bought with black lights in mind to make the whole gym glow. The DJ for this year is former NHS student, Freddy Martinez (Zullo). Song requests will be taken via a google form that will be available the week before homecoming. There will be a photobooth in the cafe. Along with tables to relax at and an area supervised by a chaperone where purses and other possessions can be stored while you are dancing. There will be water and some limited snacks available. Please plan to eat before or after to fuel for a night of partying.
This year homecoming is expected to be a night full of dancing and fun. I hope to see you all there.
