Language
Language includes writing and grammar. We practice one language concept a week. We do this practice in class. We often do short writing prompts in class, and every sixth week we do a writing week! If you have questions about assignments in PowerSchool, please read the assignment description first to better understand the class average and the assignment details.

Reading consists of so much more than fluency! In reading this year we focus on character traits, their thoughts and decision making, and their voice. We also focus on author's purpose, text structure, and citing evidence. Our spelling words are rigorous this year, so please help your students create good habits. Students have a monthly spelling log and reading log to help with this. Spelling lists are linked below.

Power Spelling has our entire year of spelling lists. Search the unit and the week. You can test yourself and play games to practice!
Google Classroom shows some assignments assigned from your teacher. Click this link if you are going to work on assignments from home. This also shows detailed essay grades from Mrs. Tappana!
IXL is perfect for practicing any skills just for you. When you log in, play games or do any recommended skills under the recommendations tab! Also, it is perfect place to brush up on your math, ELA, science, or Social Studies skills.
PowerSchool lists your grades. Check your grades often to stay on track. This is how we communicate grades!
