The Hawkins Street School Band was started in 2020 as part of a grant from the Save the Music Foundation.  What started as a donation of roughly fourty instruments and a single band, has grown to four bands, over 100 instruments and a partnership with the Ironbound Community Corporation to provide extra band and lesson classes outside of school.  Hawkins Street School's music program hopes to expand to include a Jazz Band and Marching Band in the future.
