All-City Music Festival
Congratulations to all seven of our talented Band and Choir students who participated in this year's All-City Music Festival at Arts High School! It was a pleasure to see our young scholars showcase their hard work and make music with 231 students from 37 schools throughout the district. ICC After School Band
Are you interested in playing an instrument?
Sign up for ICC's After School Band! We are currently enrolling students to play and learn in our after school Band Program! The best part is the program and instrument is free! Ask Mr. Kertesz for sign up forms or more information!

Band Together is a Saturday Program that runs from 10AM-2PM. Beginner to intermediate students learn how to play woodwinds, brass, or percussion during group lessons, and perform together in a final concert. Band Together will take place at Newark’s prestigious Arts High School, 550 Dr. Martin Luther King BLVD, Newark, NJ. Scholarships and Financial Aid is available. Students will receive a year long rental and lessons as part of their registration.

What is Band?
Band is a scheduled ensemble class made up of students playing different instruments, including but not limited to: Flute, Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, and Percussion. Students in Grade 5-8 meet 2-3 times a week.
About Mr. Kertesz
Mr. Kertesz is in his seventh year teaching Middle School Band, his second at Hawkins Street School. A 2017 Graduate from the University of Delaware, Mr. Kertesz is excited to provide a musically enriched and positive environment for his students.
