They live up to 5-10 years.
Snails are very important to an ecosystem. They might be a problem to fruit trees or any crops, but they also feed animals such as ducks. In Biggest Little Farm there was way too many snails and the trees were dying. But then the people let all the ducks start eating all the snails!
Snails do not have a backbone.
They move on their slimy body and they keep their home (shell) on their back.
Snails are found on land and in sea.
The seashells found on beaches are often empty snail shells
Because land snails need to stay moist in order to survive, they are usually most active at night or when it’s cloudy or rainy.
Some snails hibernate during colder months
Snails have two sets of tentacles.
