The North Wales Elementary School Chorus is open to any child in fourth, fifth, or sixth grade in the North Wales Elementary School. Students are required to attend Thursday morning rehearsals, which begin at 8:00 am and end at 9:00 am, when the first bell rings. Chorus members perform at: 

• The North Wales Winter Concert, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 @ 7:00 pm 

• You Gotta' Have Arts!, the North Wales art show and choral concert on Thursday, March 18, 2024 @ 7:00 pm

Concert Attire

Concert attire for members of the Chorus and Select Choir is consistent from year to year, and is intended to complement the formal nature of a performance and to visually enhance a solid musical presentation. Appropriate concert attire is listed below. In an effort to simplify things, this year we will be purchasing white polo shirts as a group. More information about the shirts is available during on-line registration.

Boys

• white polo shirt

• black slacks

• dark socks

• dark shoes (dress shoes preferred)

• no tie

Girls

• white polo shirt

• black skirt or dress slacks (skirts must be at least fingertip length)

• flesh colored stockings or white socks

• flat dress shoes

The North Wales Elementary School Select Choir is an auditioned group of fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students from North Wales Elementary School. Each of these students is also a member of the Chorus, which is open to all students in fourth through sixth grades. In addition to Thursday morning Chorus rehearsals, Select Choir members attend before school rehearsals on Monday and Friday mornings in the fall, and Monday mornings in the spring. Select Choir members are required to practice at home in order to properly prepare the music for the concerts in which they perform

Each December the Select Choir sings at the Upper Gwynedd Holiday Lights Spectacular in addition to performing at our evening concert at North Wales. In January the Select Choir takes part in the North Penn Choral Showcase at North Penn High School. In March the Select Choir performs at “You Gotta’ Have Arts!”, the North Wales choral concert and art show.  Each May the Select Choir participates in a Music In The Parks adjudication festival where North Wales has consistently earned a “Superior” rating, the highest rating possible, and at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale. Auditions

Students must be a member of Chorus to audition for Select Choir. 

The North Wales Elementary School Show Choir is open to all interested members of the Chorus. Show Choir is not an auditioned group. Rehearsals for Show Choir, which presents choreography in addition to arrangements of pop music, take place on Friday mornings in the Music Room beginning on January 5, from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. Students should enter the building through Door 9, the car line door, and report directly to the Music Room.

Show Choir attire is dictated by the theme of the show being performed, and will be communicated to Show Choir members during rehearsal.
