Dr. Shinichi Suzuki realized that learning music was like learning a whole new language! He in turn developed the "mother tongue" approach to playing an instrument. Students learn musical skills through repetition, games, and listening.
The Suzuki program at North Penn consists of violin lessons for students in grades K-2. Parents accompany the child to lessons and even learn the basics of violin playing so that they can best help their child learn. The Suzuki program requires a high level of commitment and dedication from teacher, parents, and student.

*LISTENING to the Suzuki recordings is the best thing you can do to practice every day. Yes, the fingers must know what to do; however, the mind must know the tune and rhythm of the songs! The students who listen to the music frequently are those who are consistently successful.
