2026 IB Diploma Candidates
Hello! My name is Joanna. I moved to Novi in 2020 after living in Chicago, London, and Shanghai. In my free time, you would most likely find me stuck at late-night theater rehearsals, figure skating, studying at a cafe with a matcha, or binge-watching Dancing with the Stars. Having experienced and lived in so many different communities growing up, I was curious about how knowledge forms within such groups, so for my exhibition, I decided to explore the link between communities and the knowledge that stems from them.
Hi! My name is Anika. I was born in Novi and have lived there my entire life. I enjoy reading, photography, and spending time with my friends and family. I love traveling and experiencing the world. I am a big believer that we are shaped by all of our experiences so for my exhibition I chose to explore the relationship between personal experience and knowledge.
Hello! My name is Sophia Zoé. I was born in México and moved to Novi in 2013. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, drawing, and traveling. However, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my dog, Dott. I love learning new things, and I am interested in the different ways learning can present itself, which is why I chose to explore how the context in which knowledge is presented can influence whether it is accepted or rejected.
Hello! My name is Sarah. I moved to Novi in 2020 after living in Farmington Hills for 10 years. I love shopping, makeup, baking, and going to the gym. I also love baking, and I own a small business creating custom-painted shoes. I believe our values and the things we cherish shape how we think and what we learn, which inspired me to explore these ideas in my exhibition.
Hi! My name is Veena, and unlike most of my fellow candidates' moves across the world, I have been situated in Novi, MI for almost my whole life. In my free time, I can be found running 5K's, baking macarons, watching a Despicable ME movie marathon, or checking off destinations on my travel bucket list. I've always been interested in how us humans value "categories" in our lives, so through my exhibition, I aim to expand on the relationship between classifying knowledge and the impact it has on us.
Hi! My name is Hannah. I was born and lived in East London, South Africa, where, at the age of 11, I moved to Prague, Czech Republic, and stayed there until I was 16. I then finally moved to little Novi, Michigan. I enjoy spending my time either in nature, running, hiking, or in the comfort of my bed reading a book.
Hi! My name is Lakshmi. I was born in Kerala, India, and I moved from there to the U.S. at the age of 5. Once I moved to the U.S., I've lived in California, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, and finally settled in Michigan 8 years ago, when I was 10 years old. I enjoy reading, crocheting, and binge-watching TV shows and movies. Having lived in so many places, I realized that history is pertinent to understanding the world around you, so I aim to explore how history influences the development of knowledge through my exhibition.
