1. A student might be doing really well academically and would want to improve their options for International study. In this case doing A-levels is highly recommended, if not essential.
2. A student might be doing well academically but they want to apply to a top South African university for a highly competitive course. A-levels will give them a distinct advantage.
3. A student might be very uncertain about what exactly they want to do after school. Using A-levels as an Academic Bridging year will give them time to mature and get certainty, while at the same time giving them a competitive advantage over other students.
4. A student might be concerned over their academic performance and the pressures of having to complete AS in Year 12 with D symbols and a combination of C symbols for IGCSE. Doing A-levels buys them time and more options for University exemption while doing fewer subjects. (You need 3 A-levels with an E symbol or a combination of IGCSE with 2 A-levels to also get University exemption.)
In all the scenarios above, we will build an individual two-year pathway for students starting next year. This will be done in consultation with students and parents who are interested.
Kindly note that subject selection applies when learners choose their subjects at the end of Grade 8 for their Grade 9 and Grade 10 (IGCSE) years. Please be aware that English, Mathematics (Extended or Core), and a Second Language are compulsory subjects.
We encourage parents to have a thorough discussion with their child to ensure thoughtful and informed subject choices once school reopens. Learner must select one subject per block. This can also be discussed with our Dean of Instruction, Mr. G. Kandiero, should you require further guidance.

Most ebooks on Snapplify have a lifetime licence, but some do have a time-span of a little over a year. This is clearly indicated below the e-book title on the book list.
To use the e-books, students will need to download the Snapplify app to their devices. E-books can then be downloaded onto the Snapplify app and used offline.
Snapplify provides a lot of interactive study features on the app. Students can highlight portions as they read, leave notes, link related resources or videos, and do much more with the text as they read within the app.
The Engage platform supports all major payment methods including debit and credit cards. We recommend paying via credit card, as the e-books will then be available immediately.
