We’re thrilled to have you join the Nova Pioneer Paulshof Primary community, where young learners are nurtured, challenged, and inspired every day.
Here, we focus on helping each child develop the skills, confidence, and character to succeed in their educational journey and beyond.
To make your transition smooth, we’ve created a step-by-step guide that includes everything you need to prepare for the year ahead, from uniform details to essential school information.
Be sure to visit our FAQs section, where we’ve answered many of the common questions to ensure your family feels ready to begin this exciting chapter.
Welcome to the Nova Pioneer family—we can’t wait to see your child flourish!
There are three documents that we require from your child's current school prior to you leaving, namely:
Student Transfer Profile/ Testimonial (Inter-School submission)
Finance Clearance Form/Final School Statement (Parent submission)
Final Report (Parent submission)
The first two documents can be downloaded from the resources page. You would need to email them to your current school and very importantly, remember to cc admissions.paulshof@novapioneer.com. The school is required to submit the student transfer profile directly to us due to its confidential nature.
To avoid delays or start of school issues kindly ensure that you have submitted all the documents/forms required by the admissions team.
Please note that if your child is not a South African citizen an additional document is required of you prior to starting at Nova Pioneer. Please see details in the FAQs Study Visa section.
Visit the resource page to download various resources such as stationery, calendar, payment app and all the other information that you require prior to joining us.
You will also find a form for:
Language selection for Grade 4 to 6, kindly complete the form soonest.
It is vital that you read through the Nova Pioneer Handbook in order for you to familiarise yourself with our school, policies and regulations.
If you have missed the parent orientation event a recording is available above for you.
We have a New Novaneers orientation for new students that takes place 14 January before everyone else joins us on campus. Students are to arrive in their sports kits. Further details will be communicated to you by the school. If you think you missed our email, feel free to check the Emails tab. Please see dates below.
If your child is joining mid-year, the admissions team will indicate what date your child may start.

The affordability check process consists of 2 aspects, namely:
Bank credit check
Manual check of payslips, bank statements, proof of residence and parent ID's. It is strongly recommended that household income is reflected in these documents.
Credit checks cannot be made on savings accounts nor on Capitec accounts, in those instances, you may will be required to submit further documentation over and above the proof of income.
The process cannot be initiated until all forms and documents are completed and submitted along with the full deposit. Affordability checks and verification may take up to 2 weeks to complete.
To submit affordability supporting documents please upload here to a secure finance form.
Forms require that you fill in various fields for guardian 1 and 2, payer information and learner information whereas the documents consist of sending us the following:

Did you know that there are multiple opportunities to save money on your fees?
If you opt for the annual plan you can save between R6,000 to R9,000 on tuition fees. Opting for the termly plan can save you between R2,000 to R3,000 a year. Here are some other ways you can save money:
The school offers parents a family discount. This discount will only be allocated to the fees from the second child onwards.
● The following sibling discount is offered on tuition fees:
○ Child #1: 0% discount on tuition fees
○ Child #2: 5% discount on tuition fees of the younger sibling
○ Child #3 and subsequent siblings: 10% discount on tuition fees of the youngest sibling/s
The school offers all current Novaneer families a tuition discount of R3 500 (on their own child’s fees) for each new student referral. This discount will only apply if the student referred is successfully admitted to the school. This referral discount is only applicable to the first year of tuition fees. Where a successful referral is made by a family who has two children at the school, the discount will only be applied to the child in the lowest grade.
NB. In order to successfully benefit from referring a student, the referred parent must state that they were referred by you (name and surname) when they fill in the online application form in the ‘how did you hear about us’ section. There are some terms and condition. Read more...
Don't have anyone to refer but still want to make the community bigger? You can show your support by providing a review on Google or Facebook so that we can attract more amazing families like yours!
Interest on all overdue accounts will be charged monthly on outstanding balances at a rate of 1% per month from the payment due date.
If your child is going to Grade 1 upwards and is not a South African citizen or a permanent residence permit holder, your child requires a study visa. Study Visas are issued for a particular school, should your child move to a different school you will have to apply for a new study visa.
If you fail to obtain a study visa, we are unfortunately required by law to de-register your child from our school. Please begin the application process immediately.
We will require proof of such an application to be emailed to studentdata.sa@admin.novapioneer.com before school starts.
If you are a PRP holder, please email the permit to studentdata.sa@admin.novapioneer.com .
Application for study visas can be made online through the VFS Global Visa and Permit Centre at http://www.vfsglobal.com/dha/southafrica/. You can contact the centre telephonically at 012 425 3000.
We will require proof of such an application to be emailed to admissions.paulshof@novapioneer.com before school starts.

We are excited to welcome Bluecherry Enterprise as the new tuckshop operator. They have been very successful in running the tuckshop facilities at the Nova Pioneer Paulshof campus and we are looking forward to building on the relationship they have established with Nova Pioneer.
Bluecherry prides themselves in running a professional service focusing on healthy food for all students. To ensure this level of service continues, the following information is important:
- food should be pre-ordered between 16:00 in the afternoon and 7:30 the following morning. Orders placed outside of this timeframe cannot be attended to
- for 2022 Term 1 a limited menu will be offered. This is to ensure Bluecherry is able to set up and smooth out all operational matters. Once settled, more items will be added to the menu
- as communicated in Term 3 of 2021, food orders will be done through the Karri app. The menu items as well as the prices can be accessed via this app. Please see below instructions on how to access this app. The Karri app will also be used for various event payments. We therefore strongly advise parents to download this application and familiarise themselves with its use.
We welcome Bluecherry Enterprises to the Paulshof campus and look forward to a fantastic 2022!
Yours in Education,
Nova Pioneer Ormonde
Karri app: How to?
We will be hosting a few upcoming events, using the Karri app. Our current families are familiar with the payment app, and we would like our new families to join and come on board.
What is Karri?
How it Works
Karri is a mobile payment app that allows you to make quick payments for school events. Instead of sending children to school with envelopes of cash for civvies days and class outings, you’re able to make fast payments of exact amounts straight to your school.
There is NO charge to the parents for this application. It is FREE to download from either the Apple Store or Google Play Store plus it uses less data than Whatsapp.
As a school, we realise that making small payments for collections can be time-consuming and frustrating for you. Having to find the exact change needed, an envelope for the money and hoping that your child delivers it to their teacher is an inconvenience. Then there’s the issue of diarising the event and keeping track of multiple school events within your busy work schedule. We believe we have found the solution and we are excited to announce that we are using a new payment application that will help alleviate these issues.
The application is called Karri (a Zulu word for small change). Karri is an innovative mobile payment application that allows you to make quick payments for school collections using your smartphone. Karri is powered by Nedbank but will work with any bank ensuring the safety and security of all information loaded onto the app. It is therefore fully POPI and PCI DSS compliant with stringent internal measures. We have furthermore entered into a contractual agreement with Karri to guarantee this.
You only need an email address to access the app. After downloading the app, please sign up with your email address. Upon signing up you will be asked which school you want to subscribe to. All collections relevant to the school and/or your child's grade will automatically be visible to you.
We have attached a Karri pamphlet detailing the simple steps for making payments. We would really appreciate your support in striving to be a cash-free environment.
For further queries or information visit the Karri website on www.karri.co.za alternatively you can contact Karri directly on: 021 300 1867.
