Creativity, Activity, Service
Our CAS Program is at the heart of IB and is a requirement for successful completion of the IB Diploma Program. CAS is considered one of the central pillars of the IB Diploma Programme. It enables students to enhance their personal development through a meaningful experience that fosters self-discovery and community-mindedness.
CAS is organized around the three strands of:
Creativity—exploring and extending ideas leading to an original or interpretive product or performance
Activity—physical exertion contributing to a healthy lifestyle
Service—collaborative and reciprocal engagement with the community in response to an authentic need
One of the main purposes of having CAS in the IB Diploma Programme is to encourage personal growth and development. It provides Diploma students with an opportunity to develop skills and talents, as well as areas for growth and also to make the world a better place through active involvement in the community.
Service Learning
Service learning is a teaching/learning method that connects meaningful community service experiences with academic learning, personal growth, and civic responsibility. In addition, service learning includes opportunities for students to reflect on what they are learning and doing and learn from their experience.
During the school year, students are required to take part in Service learning activities and self-initiate projects for their community.
