Did you know that Nottingham has three outside of school ensembles?

In music class, students learn how to be musical individuals and try new experiences. Band and chorus allows students to focus on a specific area of music and work with others as a team. If your student is looking to push themselves, joining band and chorus might be the challenge they need! 

Beginning Band

Students in grades 4-8 are welcome to join band! Beginning band is the place for students who are just learning their instrument. Students will learn the fundamentals of playing their instrument and reading music. Instrument options include:

• Flute

• Clarinet

• Alto Saxophone

• Trumpet

• Trombone

• Bell Kit (Percussion)

Advanced Band

Advanced Band is for students who have played in band before on their chosen instrument. We will continue to reinforce the fundamentals while working on harder music. If your student plays an instrument outside of those mentioned in beginning band, reach out to me to see if you are able to join!

Chorus 

Chorus is for students who are looking to continue learning how to sing with a group and create beautiful music. If you like singing in music class and want to learn how to use your voice in a healthy way, chorus is for you!
