Why was I invited to join National Honor Society?

You have a cumulative GPA of 3.67 or higher and 15 (juniors) or 30 (seniors) hours of service in high school.

How do I apply for membership?

See your NHS invitation to join sent to your NDA email account for the due date of these materials:

• Complete the NHS STUDENT APPLICATION GOOGLE FORM included in your invitation email.

• Ask 2 NDA adults (faculty or staff) to complete the NHS RECOMMENDATION FORM. The NHS moderator has emailed all faculty and staff this Google form.

• Pay the one-time dues of $20.50.

If you are unable to pay the dues, please contact Diane Mulroney (Doctora) at dmulroney@notredameacademy.com. You will not be denied membership for this reason.

How do I become a member?

If you complete the application steps above and there are no questions about your eligibility:

• Attend the induction ceremony planning meeting (date/time TBA; we keep you informed via your NDA email, our GC, the Morning Show, the written announcements, and your student newsletter.

• Attend the Mass and Induction Ceremony in the NDA chapel in November; the date and time are published on the RSchool calendar each August and we will keep you informed as above.

How do I remain a member?

• Maintain high standards of personal conduct in keeping with the NDA Honor Code and NHS Bylaws.

• Maintain a 3.670 GPA.

• Attend the NHS Mass and Induction Ceremony.

• Attend all NHS meetings.

• Complete the NHS Service Requirement as outlined in the NHS Bylaws.

• Pay the one-time $20.00 NHS fee.

Can I get kicked out of NHS if I goof up?

No! If you do not maintain the bullet points in the section above, the NHS moderator will talk to you and send you an email. We will also email your parents/guardians. These communications are required per the NHS Bylaws. See the NDA Bylaws for consequences for infractions. You have some time to get back on track: to get your GPA up, to get off probation, or whatever the case may be.
