You do not need to. NISMUN have opened many chair applicants to start their chairing journey.
In NISMUN III, only 49.1% have been a chair before.
The average chair applicant has been to 0.98 conferences as a chair.
The average accepted chair applicant has been to 1.61 conferences as a chair.

It is highly recommended you start your journey as a delegate in MUN, as a chair is a professional position which requires experience and knowledge of point of views of all positions in MUN.

No, you don't. It is considered to your application, especially if you are a first-time chair, and if you are in a school that is registered to offer the Chair Assessment.

No, you don't need to. Although most candidates have had delegate awards, chair awards are significantly rarer.

You can be a chair if you are placed on the waitlist. In NISMUN III, 22.22% of waitlisted applicants were requested to be chairs.

No, you don't. We highly recommend chairs from Thai schools to apply as chair. NISMUN is committed to increasing accesibility to MUN.
This year, we trialed a Chair application process which included three long-form questions where candidates were expected to answer two. The following are the Mark Scheme for the Chair Application and the Principal Examiner Report on the Chair Application Questions.
The mark scheme is published as an aid to advisors, student leaders and candidates, to indicate the requirements of the chair application. It shows the basis on which Examiners were instructed to award marks.
NISMUN will not enter into discussions or correspondence in connection with these mark schemes or examiner reports.
