Use the spoon to move the golf ball to different cups, and observe how it behaves. The cups have different amounts of salt dissolved in the water. More salt = more dense.

The golf ball will float if it is placed in a fluid that is more dense than the ball itself, and it will sink if it is placed in a fluid that is less dense than itself.
