While working with your child on writing and table tasks:
Limit distractions: Provide a quiet environment by turning off TV, music, and all electronic devices. Provide an area with good lighting. (Place a desk/table against a wall to limit distractions.)
Posture: Proper posture in a chair. 90-90-90 this means that hips should be at 90 degrees, 90 degrees at knees and 90 degrees at ankles. Feet should be on the floor. If a student is slumping in the seat it can make it more difficult to do desk/table work. Cue student to sit up straight.
Stabilization: If the paper is slipping when a student is writing this with make it more difficult to write. Tape paper to desk/table, use clip board or use helper hand to stabilize paper.
