How did Pete the Cat feel at the beginning of the story? -grumpy

How did the magic sunglasses make him and his friends feel? -happy! (or feeling alright!)
Did he need the magic sunglasses to be happy in the end? -no

Segmenting
Make sure to be logging into Lexia if your child has an account so that they can practice phonics and reading skills at their level!
Clapping from side to side activity.
Give the children a word, e.g. โpotโ. Moving from left to right, they clap three times (one clap to their left hand side, one clap in front of them, and one clap to their right). AS they clap they say โp-o-tโ. Then the move their hands back to their starting point, before under the imaginary word from left to right again and say โPot!โ Then repeat the process. Try these words: mat, pin, fed, sub, mop, shut, thin, whack, chat, shed

Why did Harry's family not recognize him when he came back home? - He was covered in dirt which changed his color.
Do you think Harry will leave home again to go play in the town? -Answers will vary.

Week 3 & 4
Segmenting

Who are the main characters? Arnie and Mr. Bing
What is the setting? At the doughnut shop, and then at Mr. Bing's house
What is the problem? Arnie didn't know that doughnuts get eaten when they leave the shop. He and Mr. Bing can't think of another good use for a doughnut.
What is the solution? Mr. Bing always wanted a dog but was not allowed to have one where he lived. He asked Arnie to be his doughnut-dog and they went for walks, played fetch, rolled over, etc. They were very happy to be friends in the end!
