AT KENDALL COLLEGE & CAREER ACADEMY
Enhanced curriculum, or EC, is a collaborative project-based learning course. In EC, students are given the opportunity to engage in grade level content, through a variety of creative and technological mediums. Each project in EC is aligned with the Connecticut Common Core State Standards, and allows students to fully demonstrate their knowledge through extensive, meaningful, engaging projects. Each project pushes student’s critical thinking, as well as their ability to plan, organize and solve complex problems. Projects in EC are framed by the priority standards, coinciding with each unit in the Norwalk Public Schools Curriculum Maps. Ec at its core is made up of the following components: STEAM, maker-space exploration, coding, and digital citizenship, art and technology integration. The vision of EC is to prepare students for the real-world, modern complexities, of the 21st century. Through investigation of real-world authentic problems, creativity, and collaboration, each student will be multiple steps closer to college and career readiness.
