After months of dedication, creativity, and tireless preparation, the talented members of the NMS Drama Program are proud to present their upcoming production of “Alice in Wonderland” later this month. Students have been fully immersed in the theatrical process, refining choreography, developing character-driven scene work, mastering blocking, and committing their scripts to memory with impressive focus and discipline.

Behind the scenes, Technical Director Mr. Kramer devoted significant time over April vacation to constructing an ambitious second level for the NMS Theatre stage. Combined with an innovative approach to set and lighting design, this year’s production promises to be among the most visually striking in the program’s recent history.  Meanwhile, longtime choreographer Mrs. Treannie continues to guide students through intricate footwork and precisely timed movements.

Directors Mrs. Holicker and Mr. Beard have been diligently coordinating every aspect of the production - from costumes and props to ticketing, volunteer organization, licensing, and the design of posters, T-shirts, and playbills - ensuring a cohesive and professional experience. “We take great pride in ensuring that our middle school productions don’t look like middle school productions,” exclaims Mrs. Holicker.  “We want audiences to leave with the feeling as though they’ve just seen a show on Broadway.”  

As opening night approaches, rehearsals have intensified to an impressive - and at times demanding - twelve hours per week, reflecting the students’ commitment to excellence.

The NMS Drama Program will offer two daytime matinee performances for students and staff on May 21 and May 22. Evening performances for families and the community will take place at 7:00 PM on May 20, 21, and 22. Tickets for evening performances are available here.
