Dear NMS Families,
At Norton Middle School, we take great pride in recognizing the many ways our students learn, lead, and make a positive impact each day. Throughout the year, we regularly celebrate students for a wide range of accomplishments including athletic achievements, academic growth, acts of kindness, leadership moments, and contributions that strengthen our school community.
As part of our schoolwide PBIS program, these recognitions come in many forms, including:
Shoutouts during morning announcements
Invitations to the office to receive a Lancers LEAD t-shirt
Highlights on our Friday News Broadcast
Classroom or grade-level acknowledgments
And many other moments designed to lift students up and reinforce the positive things they do
Our core values, Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Better (doing your best) are more than school rules. They represent a year-round approach to how we treat others, how we show up in the world, and how we continually strive to grow. When our students embody these values, whether here at NMS or out in the community, it absolutely deserves to be celebrated.
We also know that our students are involved in countless activities beyond the school day: scouting, cheerleading, karate, drama, music, youth sports, art programs, and so much more. If your child or their team/group has achieved something you’d like recognized at school big or small please feel free to email me. I would be more than happy to shine a light on their hard work, dedication, and accomplishments. Parents are our children’s first teachers, and meaningful learning happens everywhere.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and for sharing your amazing children with us each day. We are incredibly proud of them and we love celebrating them!
