Due to unstable foundation, the visitor bleachers were condemned in 2016 and had to be moved onto the ground. The bleachers currently sit directly on the track behind the coaches and team, making it difficult for spectators to even see the field. A safe, quality bleacher system for the home team, as well as the visiting team, helps to increase attendance and revenue for the athletic program.
The existing press box was built by a group of volunteers and provided a much needed space that has served it's purpose well. It is currently unsafe and in dire need of replacement. Modern day press boxes include space for the expanded use of video crews and technology to support the various athletic events and activities.
Providing a welcoming entrance to the stadium is an important aspect of Viking pride. The current ticket booths have reached the end of their useful life and are in need of updates not only to function properly but to welcome fans to the Viking Stadium.
The track is not currently located in the stadium and has reached the end of it's expected life. Relocating it into the stadium is more economical and will allow for efficient use of the bleachers, restrooms, concessions and locker rooms.
