The Age of the Sage - George Ross
Every man eventually reaches a crossroads. One path leads toward becoming a grump—quick to criticize, slow to encourage, and content to offer opinions. The other leads toward becoming a sage—a man whose life has been refined by God into a source of wisdom, humility, and hope for those coming behind him. In this breakout, George will explore how older men can embrace this sacred calling, turning years of experience into a lasting legacy by mentoring, encouraging, and investing in the next generation.
Peace-keeper or Peace-maker - John "Didi" Bacon
We live in a world filled with strife, divisiveness, and unresolved conflict. Harmonious relationships bring life. Strife brings destruction, defeat and even death. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9). Men of God are peace makers. What does it mean to be a peace maker? Peace makers are not peace keepers. Peace keepers will do anything to avoid conflict. Peace makers will lean with wisdom into difficult conversations. Peace keepers don’t speak the truth in love. Peace makers speak with love in order to bring real peace. Peace keepers are self centered. Peace makers are selfless. Join Didi as he walks through the lessons he has learned from scripture and experience how to be a peace maker.
The Healthy Elder - Dr. Gary Johnson
If the church is healthy, the church will grow. But the health of the church is a reflection of the health of each elder leading the church. As a man of God, how strong is your walk with the Lord? In this workshop, Executive Director of e2: effectiveelders, Dr. Gary Johnson will provide three practical, specific steps to improve our spiritual health so that we can be at our best for God in leading His Church.
Security in the Wilderness - Garrett Wilson
We have all received an invitation. Not the same invitation to do the same things, but the invitation to step into the unique calling on each of our lives, given to us by the Author, Originator, Pioneer, and Perfecter of our faith. The calling is a journey Into the Wild; where the road is long, the Presence is real, the lessons are rich, and the view (at the end) is worth the trek. Garrett will explore what it looks like to walk faithfully with the Lord in your purpose and passions and how it is the safest place for your heart to be and life to be spent.
Being a Man of God - Darin Mirante
Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of clarity in our day and age around what it means to be a man. There are certain cultural norms and expectations around our roles as husband and father, what we do for work, and how we interact with others. What we need is clarity that leads to conviction and confidence so that every single one of us can maximize our God-given lives. In this breakout, Darin will clarify who God has created us to be so that we can overcome passivity and live with boldness rooted in knowing our identity in God.
