At Northlands Wood, our Sports Crew is made up of Year 5 and 6 pupils, who want to develop their leadership skills through teaching younger children in the school, working alongside Mr Bartlett to develop our delivery of PE and Sport and to run activities at lunch times.
At Northlands Wood, our Sports Crew is made up of Year 5 and 6 pupils, who want to develop their leadership skills through teaching younger children in the school, working alongside Mr Bartlett to develop our delivery of PE and Sport and to run activities at lunch times.
So what does a member of Sports Crew get up to throughout the year?
Attend training with other local primary schools run by Mid Sussex Active
Plan activities to deliver to a Year 2 class before Christmas
Meet with Mr Bartlett weekly to develop leadership skills, plan activities and discuss areas of improvement within PE at Northlands Wood
Deliver lessons to KS1 classes throughout the year
Run lunch time activities on the playground throughout the year
Termly meetings with Mrs Robson-Close and Miss Beckwith
Lead warm ups and cool downs within your own year group and be in charge of the upkeep of the PE sheds and equipment
Assist in the planning and running of Sports Days for each year group in the school
