Fourth graders have an opportunity to dive into our State's rich history. We visit the WI State Capital building, as well as the WI Historical Socitey Museum. Our goal is to connect students to our past, so that they can understand our present. We focus on the following topics of study:
Identify physical features of our state
Compare and contrast populations of people in WI (early history vs today)
Investigate why people moved to WI and how that has changed over time
Use evidence to draw cause and effect conclusions about significant events in our State's History
Identify the role of early Native American nations in the shaping of WI
Study individuals who played a significant role in the political and/or social beginnings of WI
