As developing readers and writers, we want our 4th-grade students to master certain foundational skills while continuing to grow their literacy skills through more complex texts. Our District has adopted the "Into Reading" curriculum resource by HHM. Students will engage in learning activities that will allow them to meet or extend proficiency.
In ELA and Writing, students will work towards proficiency to:
*read grade-level texts with understanding, accuracy, expression, and appropriate rate
*students will compose formal and informal writing pieces across genres
*strengthen their writing through planning, revising and editing
*use grade level conventions of written language
*apply knowledge of spelling patterns to writing
*apply grade level high frequency words in writing.
