This course is designed to provide students with an advanced media experience. Students will assist with the production of weekly news broadcasts as well as independent video projects utilizing the latest techniques and media software. This class will also help produce school related videos for broadcast and will film school related events.
Grading
Grading is based on attendance, effort and completing assignments and all aspects of daily Duties. Expectations include, following directions, showing a positive attitude, and having some fun. Student will be graded on the following scale
Four projects per quarter (about 2 weeks per project.)
800 points total / per quarter
20% 160 pts - Progress Grades
30% 240 pts - Projects
20% 160 pts - Quizzes / Exams
10% 80 pts - Homework and Assignments
20% 160 pts - Participation
4 units per quarter = 160 pts per unit
40 pts- Progress Grades 20 pts each (2 total)
60 pts - Project
40 pts - Quiz/ Exams
20 pts - Homework/ in class assignments 10pts each (2 total)
Example: Unit 1 Advanced Camera Shots - time frame 5 classes (2 weeks)

Project Grade - 60 pts
Quiz Grade - 40 pts

Q1 grade - 40%

INDEPENDENT STUDY GRADING
Students will be graded bi-weekly on a scale of 100% based on the following.
Positive Attitude - 15
Time on Task - 15
Participation - 30
Daily Duties - 40
Students will also be graded on their independent projects and deadlines based on the rubric provided.
Separate homework and class assignments may be assigned throughout the course and scored on a 1 – 100% scale
