Northern Michigan E3 is dedicated to eradicate racism and build a regional movement toward racial justice and collective liberation through education, elevation, and engagement. Our Council is led by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and traditionally marginalized community leaders who celebrate and welcome diversity and equality for all.

Our organization began when founding members organized the June 6, 2020 Black Lives Matter Rally following the murder of George Flyod.
Here at Northern Michigan E3, we see the value in everyone and we want to be a catalyst for positive change. Since our beginnings in 2020, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our non-profit organization upon: support, empowerment, and progress. Learn more about our mission, our vision, and how we go about making the changes we want to see.
Northern Michigan E3’s purpose is to eradicate racism and build a regional movement toward racial justice and collective liberation through engagement, education, and elevation that is BIPOC-led and BIPOC-centered.

We partner with the Utopia Foundation as our fiscal sponsor.

We understand that the world is complex and that development is hard work which is why we take into account the local culture and seek to be as local as possible in all our efforts.”
This partnership allows our Council Members to focus on community engagement, elevating programs and issues impacting our BIPOC community, and providing educational opportunities while the Utopia Foundation holds structures to ensure our impact is felt by our northern Michigan community.
