Since the launch of our virtual clinic on July 1, 2020, the DVI has successfully assisted 94 individuals and families with legal representation and referrals, social services support, and mental health and therapeutic services.
With pandemic numbers spiking again, we are working tirelessly to provide free services to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence.
The DVI has safely housed 6 families! Specifically, through our partnership with Casa Myrna, the DVI housed two families in hotel shelter for a month (each)!
Because of our generous donors, the funds raised allowed DVI to increase access to available shelter options for families fleeing abuse AND increase the length of stay in shelter.
Beginning this month, Judi Young, Esq. will collaborate with the DVI as a contract attorney. In this capacity, Judi will provide free legal representation for clients the DVI does not have capacity to handle internally.
With your continued support, we can:
Expand our services to meet increased demand;
Provide safe, stable shelter for individuals and families in need;
Raise funds for another contract attorney!
Our services and shelters are always free!
Thank you!
On Tuesday, November 17, we hosted a Cardio Dance Class Fundraiser, taught by Trillfit instructor and former DV Clinic student - Avana Anderson! The fundraiser was a success! 30 families joined our zoom class (kids and pets, too!) and we raised $2735 as of November 24!
These donations will be used to hire a temporary contract attorney for child custody, support and welfare cases!
Thank you for your support of the DVI!
