Peer tutoring is for students, run by students. You can receive tutoring, or sign up to be a tutor.
Tutoring is open for all year levels, both for students who are requiring extra assistance, as well as for students who are wanting to achieve Merit and Excellence grades.
If you believe you may benefit from having or giving one-on-one tutoring, we would encourage you to sign up.

The Northcote College Mathematics website has all that you need to know about what you're learning in your year group, per term. It also has useful tutorials, information about competitions such as Mathex, and resources for those wishing to take scholarship.

Try Any Questions! Between 10am - 3pm weekdays, you can log on and chat with a real librarian about your inquiry. Available to anyone with an internet-enabled device — computer, tablet or smartphone. Outside of these times, you could take a look at Many Answers, here you'll find the answers to many of the questions that have been asked by thousands of Kiwi students before you!
EPIC provides access to thousands of quality curriculum related electronic resources for students to use at school and home. An introduction to EPIC, is a tutorial introducing you to accessing and using the EPIC databases. If you are at home, you will need a login and password to access EPIC, so please email Ms Stephens on js@northcote.school.nz or ask your teacher for these.
Searching Databases
If you are carrying out a research project and need help with advanced database searching, this video on Boolean Operators is useful. Great to watch before using EPIC.
Try Topic Explorer! Topic Explorer has been created by the National Library of New Zealand and helps you find quality, curated resources on a range of topics. Each topic features a carefully selected set of national and international resources, including websites, images, videos, books and more. Topic Explorer is particulary good for New Zealand / Aotearoa history and social studies resources.
Many Answers is a fantastic collection of answers and resources put together by the librarians who receive questions on the Any Questions website. They know how many students around the country are all asking the same questions! So many of the same question that they create a fabulous resource for that topic, all related to what you're learning in New Zealand schools. Anything from history, science, maths and more. They also have an amazing page for careers.
