EPIC provides access to thousands of quality curriculum related electronic resources for students to use at school and home. An introduction to EPIC, is a quick video introducing you to accessing and using the EPIC databases. You will need a login and password to access EPIC, so please email Ms Stephens on js@northcote.school.nz or ask your teacher for these.
Searching Databases
If you are carrying out a research project and need help with advanced database searching, this video on Boolean Operators is useful. Great to watch before using EPIC.
Peer tutoring is for students, run by students. You can receive tutoring, or sign up to be a tutor.
Tutoring is open for all year levels, both for students who are requiring extra assistance, as well as for students who are wanting to achieve Merit and Excellence grades.

Try Topic Explorer! Topic Explorer has been created by the National Library of New Zealand and helps you find quality, curated resources on a range of topics. Each topic features a carefully selected set of national and international resources, including websites, images, videos, books and more.
Try Any Questions! Between 1pm - 6pm weekdays, you can log on and chat with a real librarian about your inquiry. Available to anyone with an internet-enabled device — computer, tablet or smartphone. Outside of these times, you could take a look at Many Answers, here you'll find the answers to many of the questions that have been asked by thousands of Kiwi students before you!
