Sra. Portugal

¡Hola! My name is Doris Portugal and I am so happy to join the Spanish team at Meadowbrook Elementary School. I teach the 1st grade Spanish classes. Sra. Scherer teaches 2nd and 3rd grade and Srta. Marieli teaches 4th and 5th grade.

I have had the pleasure of teaching for 22 years now. I have always wanted to teach Spanish and I am so excited to be your teacher! I attended Loyola University for my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. After graduating, I taught 7th grade Math for 4 years and 5th grade Math for the last 18 years in Chicago. During that time I completed a Masters in Math, as well as a Masters in Administration. I feel so lucky to be part of the Meadowbrook community and to help children build confidence and excitement for language. I love being a teacher and truly appreciate getting to know my students.
