What is the Gem Reading Program?

The Gem Reading Program is an annual award given to the author of the book voted most outstanding by students in Grades 3-5 at both Meadowbrook and Greenbriar Schools.

Why participate?

The lists represent an excellent array of children's book authors and genres. Also, students who participate will get the opportunity to join their classmates at our annual voting party.

How do I participate?

Read or listen to a minimum of five books from any one list and pass the corresponding quizzes with 80% accuracy. Students will be able to take each quiz up to three times and may complete as many lists as they would like. All quizzes are to be completed in person in the library.

What is the deadline?

The deadline is Friday, January 31, 2025.
