About Me

I grew up in a small town in northwest Ohio and currently live nearby with my family: Orazio (young at heart!), Jacob (18), Casey (16), Kelsey (almost 14) and Rio (7).

About Ms. Buzza

The 2023-2024 school year will be my 24th year in education. After two years of teaching in Battle Creek, Michigan, I moved to Chicago Public Schools and taught for six years at Robert Healy.

In 2007, I started at NBJH as a 7th grade core language arts teacher. For four years I served as the junior high's literacy coach, and then I decided to return to the classroom- which I love!  After a few years as a 7th grade advanced language arts teacher, I decided to make the move to 6th grade core language arts.

After three years in 6th grade, I moved into this role as an elective teacher in 2020.  I enjoy teaching all three grade levels in the junior high and adding more literacy experiences for our students to compliment the standards addressed in the ELA classes.

I am a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and National-Louis University.  I renewed my National Board certification in 2015 and earned my Apple Teacher certification in 2019.
