April 2024,
Please remind your children that there is NO EATING on the school bus.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND IN A WATER BOTTLE DAILY*
TVES is a Nut-Safe school for snacks. Please do not send any nut or nut-containing foods to school for snack as students eat snack in the classroom.
Cough drops are not allowed in school, even with a parent note.
Students do go outside for recess as long as it is above 20 degrees (including wind chill). Please be sure that your child is dressed appropriately (coats, hat, gloves/mittens, socks) and wearing appropriate shoes/boots in cold weather.
Please remember to be mindful of your child's footwear. If sandals, flip flops, or sneakers break students will need to call home for a new pair of shoes, they cannot be repaired in school. Make sure they are sturdy and safe before wearing.
When calling in an absence for your child, please call the main office at (203) 484-1455.
There is no required physical exam (blue form) for school purposes for students at TVES. The next time a physical is required is for/during their 6th grade year in North Branford Public Schools. An annual physical exam may be required for after school programs (FRC), daycares, sports, etc.
The following screenings will be performed at TVES. Please contact me by September 13th if you do not want your child to participate in hearing and/or vision screenings. Before scoliosis screenings are performed, parents/guardians will be notified and given the opportunity to opt-out.
Hearing and vision: Grades 3, 4 and 5 (begins early fall)
Scoliosis: 5th grade girls only (typically in the spring)

Medication is not expired
Medication must match the healthcare providers order, name of medication and dose
Orders must be signed by healthcare provider AND parent/guardian
