1. 8th grade students attend a presentation during the school day, which will address the course registration process and high school graduation requirements.
2. Students will receive a Program of Studies and a Course Registration Worksheet.
3. Students will be expected to consult with each 8th grade core academic teacher to discuss their course level recommendation, and then core academic teachers will enter their recommendations directly into PowerSchool.
4. The Program of Studies will be consulted by students to determine high school electives.
5. Students will sign-up for classes via PowerSchool during the school day, in designated classes, with the assistance of the NBHS and NBIS School Counselors.
• T-Bird Fair & Parent Night: Offered each October for 8th grade students and their parents! You will have an opportunity to take a tour and learn about:
• Course registration and the registration process
• Each department for subject-specific information
• Sports and clubs from student representatives
• NBHS Program of Studies
• 8th Grade Scheduling: The 8th grade students select high school courses in February with the assistance of their teachers, NBIS counselor, and the high school counseling staff. The process will begin with students learning about the course registration process during an assembly presented by the high school staff each February.
• 8th Grade Panel Assembly: Takes place each May. A panel of high school students answer student questions and discuss courses, clubs, and activities at NBHS!
