Alternatives for Youth (AFY) Family Support Program 

• • A program designed to prevent incorrigible adolescents from becoming involved in the Juvenile Justice System

  • A parent or guardian first calls The Office of Suffolk County Probation (Probation AFY Intake 631-853-7889) in order to enroll their child in the AFY Program.  Probation refers the family to EAC (Education and Assistance Corp.), which is the first phase of AFY.  

  • When a family completes the first phase of AFY with EAC they decide if further support is needed in order to reach their goals.  If so, Family Service League Support works with the adolescent and their family for an average of 5-6 months.
