Latest Updates:

• September 14, 2026: Economic Development, Strategy #20 - Focus business attraction efforts on opportunities which are consistent with the character of the community and which can be reasonably supported in appropriate locations within the Town: In September of 2026, Atlas Fit opened at 1211 Osgood Street.

• August 31, 2026: Public Facilities and Services, Strategy #86 - Support and/or expand resources to address the needs of residents of all ages suffering from substance abuse and mental health challenges: In observance of International Overdose Awareness Day on August 31st, the Town of North Andover placed temporary Purple Flag Garden displays on the front lawns of both Town Hall and the Stevens Memorial Library. The purple flags stand in remembrance of those lost to overdose, offer support to families and individuals impacted by substance use, and reaffirm the community's commitment to raising awareness and reducing stigma. 

• August 12, 2026: Economic Development, Strategy #30 -  In partnership with the City of Lawrence, evaluate the economic impacts of the Lawrence Municipal Airport to determine options for maximizing economic benefits to both communities: In August of 2026, the Planning Board approved a site plan review application submitted by Lawrence Municipal Airport, to construct a new Airport Administration facility to replace the existing 1950’s era building. The new building will include airport administration space, tenant office space, and space for a future restaurant. 

• July 10, 2026: Land Use, Strategy #7 - Undertake a series of area plans for key commercial and mixed-use nodes to establish desired visions and outcomes for each location and craft zoning to implement those desired outcomes: The Town formed a working group to examine the possibility of rezoning the area north of Sutton Street, between Route 495 and Charles Street, with the intent of encouraging more commercial and mixed-use development, as well as public access to and along the Merrimack River.

• July 9, 2026: Economic Development Strategy #24 - Invest in infrastructure and streetscaping to enhance the downtown area as a pedestrian friendly economic hub.  Discuss with existing property owners the possibility of zoning changes, façade improvement programs, infrastructure investments, and changes in use: In July of 2026, the Governor signed the Commonwealth's FY27 Budget, which includes an earmark of $55,000 to be used for the "revitalization of the downtown and pocket parks."

• July 9, 2026: Public Facilities and Services, Strategy #93 - Prepare and implement a long-term maintenance plan for existing fields and, if needed, identify locations and types for additional athletic fields: In July of 2026, the Governor signed the Commonwealth's FY27 Budget, which includes an earmark of $20,000 to be used for the "any costs related to robotic lawn mowers to maintain town playing fields."

• June 30, 2026: Public Facilities and Services, Strategy #98 - Continue to support Veterans Services so that they may provide needed services to veterans: In June of 2026, the Veterans Services Office coordinated a mobile veterans clinic over two days that involved Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), an organization that provides Veterans and transitioning service members with high-quality, timely, and accurate medical disability exams by trained professionals. The clinic was held in VES's mobile unit.
