If you would like supplemental reading materials to support your child at home, please email me directly (mmcgregor@northallegheny.org). I am happy to provide online and/or printable resources to assist you in working with your developing reader.

Ways to Promote Reading at Home:

At Home Practice Ideas for my WIN Groups:

Kindergarten

Flip through flashcards or use the linked button above to have your child identify letter names and then letter sounds. Repetition will build automatic recognition!

Practice the Kindergarten "popcorn" words. Repeated practice develops fluency!

Practice identifying and manipulating sounds in words with the activities attached.

Practice reading a few CVC (consonant, vowel, consonant) words each day, cumulatively blending the sounds.

READ: Continue to practice the decodable words, sentences, and books that have been sent home. Repetition builds confidence and mastery!
