How to:

Request student device or filter restrictions

If you feel as though you would like to place restrictions on a MacBook that a student is using please read the district's restrictions policy

Once you have read the information in the link above, fill out this form.

Request to have a website blocked

District filters are compliant with the Children Internet Protection Act, which is a federal protection that addresses concerns about children’s online access to obscene or harmful content. As technology evolves, the district’s iTech team continues to monitor appropriate filters to ensure our protections exceed the federal requirements.

Fill out this form in order to request a website be reviewed for filtering.

Pay for damaged devices/lost chargers

If an NPS assigned MacBook is physically damaged, lost/stolen, or has been hacked, district policy requires that parents pay part of repair costs. Please review our current MacBook Protection Plan as well as repair costs by clicking this link.  If your family would like to purchase the protection plan (cost: $50/$25 for F/R lunch) please click on this link to enroll in the protection plan. You will either sign in or create an account, then click "Optional Device Protection Plan."

If your family does not want to purchase the protection plan they will be responsible for a share of the repair costs as outlined in the link above.  Per district policy, if you have the device protection plan the replacement device will be a Macbook.  If you do not have the device protection plan the replacement device will be a google chromebook until repair costs are paid.

If your student loses their charger, they can purchase a new one at the NNHS tech desk for $20 (USB-C chargers and Macbook Chargers). If the charger is damaged, they can bring the damaged charger to the tech desk for a replacement at no cost.

Low cost or free wifi options for NPS families

NPS no longer has hot spots for students to check out and use at home. Here are some low cost or free wifi options available for NPS families.

Lifeline is an FCC program that helps make communications services more affordable for low-income consumers. Lifeline provides subscribers a discount on qualifying monthly telephone service, broadband Internet service, or bundled voice-broadband packages purchased from participating wireline or wireless providers.

This program features up to 100Mbps download speeds for $30 a month or less for limited-income households within AT&T's 21-state footprint. Participants in this program will receive up to 100Mbps download speeds for $10 a month. This is aimed at families with school-aged children (K-12) that receive government assistance (including NSLP, SNAP, TANF or public housing). Project 10Million from TMobile

This special program is available for students K-12 who are enrolled in the NSLP. All eligible students will receive 100GB a year and a free mobile hotspot for at least five years.
